This is a great stop for a discovery exhibit tour through Curaçao maritime history: from the arrival of the island’s original inhabitants at around 600 BC, the Spanish explorers in 1499, the con-quest of Curaçao by the Dutch West Indian Company in 1634, to the slave trade between 1670 and 1815 and the British and French occupation in the 19th century.
